Defining the Sound
When you hear the name "Ace Chopper," you expect velocity. Ibrahim Alaadein El Torky explains that the name is as much about ranking as it is about technique.
"In simple terms ace: is like the ace in a card deck no.1 and chopper: is a style in rap where you are suppose to rap words faster than the average rapper, paying respect to the (world wide choppers) rap group which include bysta rhymes, Twista, eminem, Techn9ne, and many other rappers its a mix between old school hip hop and modern day beats with more of a melodic sound, and a major focus on rhythmic flow and meaningful lyrics."
The Middle Eastern Root
Ace views rap as a continuation of ancient tradition, likening modern freestyle sessions to poets in old Arabian markets.
"For me music, specifically rap music was made as a form of self expression... the origin could go way back to poetry in the old Arabian times, in the middle east poets used to have battles in the middle of markets to showcase who has a stronger skillset with rhymes and words, very similar to freestyles battles or diss tracks of our modern day."
The Alter Ego
Behind the "savage" persona is a man using music to navigate his own vulnerabilities.
"The theme of common ground in my music is more about “alter ego”, where I play a persona way more confident and savage, than my normal self in my music as a way to deal with my insecurities and I aspire to one day become the person who is represented in the music - (excluding a-lot of the vulgar aspects of it to be honest) liberating me from my own fears and insecurities, hopefully inspiring and leading listeners to the same outcome."
The Human Side
Outside of the booth, Ace is a self-proclaimed nerd who finds balance in powerlifting and gaming.
"I have many interests and hobbies outside of music, like gaming, watching movies and series, I enjoy food very very much specially fine dining, I am nerd about cars and gaming pcs, philosophy as well. P.S I do bodybuilding/powerlifting I love the gym, more likely even more than my home".
A Message of Authenticity
Ace’s final message for his audience focuses on the power of self-improvement and radical honesty.
"To not be afraid to showcase their authentic selves with whatever flaws and insecurities they have, cause in all cases not everyone in the world will like you, but certainly many people will do, and being aware of their flaws will only lead them towards becoming a better version of themselves, I love self improvement, believe that everyday is a new opportunity to grow and become a better human being, and influencing others towards the same thing is my common ground with music."
